Dear JKO members and their supporting families,
Thank you all who had attended last Saturday's Kumite Seminar with 5-time USA Kumite Champion Brian Hilliard. We hope that all of you took away many beneficial tips that will improve your skills in future kumite matches!
For anyone who may have missed it, we will be planning future Kumite Seminars with Mr. Hilliard. Please watch for upcoming emails!
This is just a reminder that there will also be a Kata Seminar on July 27 from 11:30 am - 1:30 pm instructed by Hanshi. Be sure not to miss the opportunity to learn more in-depth details about kata! To sign up, please speak to Hanshi at the dojo.
As you know Lily captured 2 gold medals ( in Elite Kata, Weapon division) and a silver medal in Kumite. She is now a USA NKF National Team member to compete internationally, representing the USA. Her first competitions are held in Cancun, MX at the beginning of August and end of August to September 1, and she will be competing in Sao Paulo, Brazil.
There are also two upcoming local tournaments below which would be a great opportunity for many of you.
The first is the Wado Kai Seiken Kai International Cup on Sunday, July 28th taking place at Linwood High School. For more information please see the attached flyer for the tournament.
On August 4, the Nikkei Games will be held at the Cal State Long Beach Pyramid. For those interested, I have included the below link for more information and registration.
